Copy of Om Nyhavns Færgekro + Historiske fakta
At Nyhavns Færgekro we invite you in for a cosy meal in our historic rooms where the legendary steamboat shipping agency White Star Line once resided.
The atmosphere in Nyhavns Færgekro is maritime, open and friendly; we will welcome you warmly whether it is for a drink in the sunshine or for dinner in our cosy rooms on the second floor.
Everywhere the maritime and original character of the building is preserved with original elements such as the spiral staircase of a tram from Frederiksberg and the marble floor from the old Dagmar theatre. There are miniature ships hanging from the ceiling and the walls are decorated with maritime paintings from the Golden Age. When the sun shines from the right angle you can still see "New York" and other destinations etched in the original window panes. This is from the time when tickets to Titanic were sold from the building.
The menu in Nyhavns Færgekro is traditional Danish cuisine. For lunch Nyhavns Færgekro serves classic Danish smørrebrød and several homemade herring specialties. You can also choose between our 20 different aquavit specialties made from selected berries and herbs such as St. John's wort, sweet woodruff and yarrow. The evening menu consists of simple and traditional dishes made from the best produce in season.
In the winter and autumn months the fireplace is lit and during the spring and summer our guests can enjoy the lively atmosphere of Nyhavn on our large patio.
